Neuron Field Exploration

This animation is an exploration of a neuron field environment.

Workflow: Neuron pulled from NeuroMorpho. Lights, materials, and animation were done in Cinema 4D Redshift. Compositing done in Adobe After Effects.

Endoscopy

This animation depicts an endoscopy, showing the endoscope traveling down the esophagus and emerging into the stomach.

This animation is a short clip exploring blood-retinal barrier breakdown that leads to macular edema.

This device animation shows the structure and features of a wearable insulin injector.

Glomerulus Flower

This conceptual animation combines ideas of natural and anatomical science. It depicts the Bowman’s capsule as flower petals, protecting the glomerulus at the center.

Workflow: Glomerulus and podocytes sculpted in zbrush. Additional modeling, lights, materials, and animation done in Cinema 4D Redshift. Compositing done in Adobe After Effects.

Intrinsic Laryngeal Muscles: High Poly Style

This animation is a part of my masters research project exploring the effect of rendering Style on anatomical learning via animations of the vocal muscles.

Audience: College level and higher Anatomy & Physiology students

Workflow: Original larynx model sourced from sketchfab. Larynx model resculpted and muscles formed in zbrush. Lights, materials, and animation rendered in 3ds Max VRay. Compositing done in Adobe After Effects. Voice over recorded and edited in Adobe Audition.

The Effect of Sunscreen on Coral Bleaching

Coral reefs are in danger of extinction. While there are many factors that contribute to coral bleaching and death, some of these threats are a result of human activities. Research has found that some of the main chemicals used in sunscreens are harmful to corals. Sun protection is important, but this animation is intended to make people aware of the potential impact of common sunscreens on the environment.

Audience: Conservationist, marine biologist, and interested ley audience

HIV Cellular Landscape

In this animation exercise, I was provided with a 3D model file of an HIV molecule and was tasked to use it to create an editorial image of a molecular landscape. I was to then create an animation using my existing renders.

Audience: General audience

Workflow: Viral particles sourced from CellPack. Leukocytes sculpted in ZBrush. Lighting abd materials rendered in 3ds Max VRay. Animation and compositing done in Adobe After Effects.
